Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, maple syrup, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. While the bars are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.
  8. Once the bars are done, let them cool slightly before drizzling with the glaze.
  9. Cut into bars and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark maple syrup.
