Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and diced apples.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and a bit of flour to create the crumb topping, then sprinkle it over the batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- For the drizzle, combine powdered sugar, cinnamon, and a little milk until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled cake.
