Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, parsley, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
  3. Mix until well combined, but do not overmix.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  5. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  7. In the last 10 minutes of baking, add the remaining marinara sauce on top.
  8. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can include chopped bell peppers or mushrooms in the meat mixture.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or a side salad for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
