- 8 pears (about 4 pounds) Bartlett or Anjou
- 1 tablespoon bottled lemon juice
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Peel, core, and chop the pears into small pieces.
- Add the chopped pears to the crockpot along with lemon juice, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.
- Stir the mixture to combine all ingredients well.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pears are soft and the mixture has thickened.
- Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
- Transfer the pear butter to sterilized jars for canning.
