- 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup tzatziki sauce
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Add the sliced chicken to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated chicken until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Warm the pita breads on the grill for a minute on each side.
- Assemble the gyros by placing the cooked chicken on the pita, then adding lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
- Wrap the pita around the filling and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
- Feel free to add other toppings like feta cheese or olives.
