  4. Add the pears to the saucepan and reduce the heat to low.
  5. Cover and poach the pears for about 20-30 minutes, or until tender.
  6. Remove the pears from the liquid and let them cool.
  7. Reduce the poaching liquid over medium heat until it thickens slightly.
  8. Serve the pears drizzled with the reduced poaching liquid.
