- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, beat sugar, sour cream, softened butter, and eggs with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Mix in mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
- Gently fold in chopped walnuts.
- Pour batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
- Enjoy plain or top with your favorite frosting.
Notes
- Do not overmix once flour is added to keep bars soft and tender.
- For extra flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
