Description
A delightful garlic bread topped with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, drizzled with balsamic reduction.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf ciabatta bread, cut horizontally
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 12 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Place both halves of the ciabatta cut-side up on a large baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix the butter and minced garlic. Spread evenly over both bread halves.
- Arrange mozzarella slices over the bread so it is fully covered. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- While the bread bakes, prepare the balsamic reduction: add balsamic vinegar to a small saucepan, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5–7 minutes until reduced by half. Set aside.
- Remove bread from the oven. Top with sliced tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle with fresh basil and drizzle with the balsamic reduction.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use ripe tomatoes for best flavor.
- Watch the balsamic carefully as it reduces to prevent burning.
- Serve immediately for the best texture and taste.
