Description

Cucumber Dill Sauce, also known as Tzatziki Sauce, is a refreshing dip made with yogurt and cucumber.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled, seeded, and finely chopped
  • ¾ cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for traditional flavor)
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced (for traditional flavor)

Instructions

  1. Peel the cucumber, remove the seeds, and chop into small pieces.
  2. Pat the cucumber dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the cucumber, Greek yogurt, milk, and fresh dill.
  4. If making traditional tzatziki, stir in lemon juice and minced garlic.
  5. Mix well until fully combined.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to blend.

Notes

  • For thicker tzatziki, strain the yogurt before mixing.
  • For smoother texture, grate the cucumber instead of chopping (be sure to squeeze out excess water).
  • Serve with pita bread, grilled meats, gyros, or fresh vegetables.
  • Stores in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
