Description

Easy Candied Walnuts are a sweet and crunchy snack that you can make quickly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted walnut halves or pieces
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
  2. In a medium non-stick skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sugar together, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon.
  3. Once the butter is melted, add the walnuts, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir well to coat the walnuts evenly.
  4. Continue cooking and stirring frequently for 3–5 minutes, until the sugar fully melts and coats the walnuts.
  5. Immediately remove the skillet from the heat to prevent burning.
  6. Spread the walnuts onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, separating any clumps.
  7. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes, or until the coating hardens.

Notes

  • Watch carefully while cooking; sugar can burn quickly.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
