Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
- Stir in finely chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until cookies are set but not browned.
- Allow cookies to cool slightly, then gently roll them in powdered sugar while still warm.
- Let cookies cool completely before serving. For a thicker coating, roll in powdered sugar a second time once fully cooled.
