Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
  4. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a boil, then let it boil for 3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  9. Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes, then spread it evenly.
  10. Top with nuts and crushed candy canes if desired.
  11. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
