  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with foil and lightly spray with nonstick spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, confectioners’ sugar, and salt.
  4. Cut in softened butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until lightly golden.
  7. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, dark corn syrup, melted butter, and eggs until smooth.
  8. Stir in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
  9. Pour filling over the pre-baked crust.
  10. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until set in the center.
  11. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
