- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with foil and lightly spray with nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, confectioners’ sugar, and salt.
- Cut in softened butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, until lightly golden.
- In another bowl, mix brown sugar, dark corn syrup, melted butter, and eggs until smooth.
- Stir in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
- Pour filling over the pre-baked crust.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, until set in the center.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Cooling fully ensures clean slices.
- For deeper flavor, lightly toast the pecans before mixing into the filling.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
