- 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a 10-inch tube pan.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined.
- Stir in lime juice and lime zest until evenly incorporated.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60–70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
