Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Butter an 8×8-inch baking dish or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine chopped apples, granulated sugar, 3/4 tsp cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  4. Transfer apple mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, oats, flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, salt, and diced butter.
  6. Use a pastry cutter or two forks/hands to cut butter into mixture until it resembles pea-sized crumbs.
  7. Spread topping evenly over the apples.
  8. Bake for 40–50 minutes, until topping is golden brown and apples are bubbly.
  9. Serve warm. Optional: top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
