Puff Pastry Brie Bites: 7 Irresistible Flavor Combos

  • Author: Belinda

Description

Puff Pastry Brie Bites are a delightful appetizer featuring creamy Brie cheese, sweet jam, and crunchy pecans, all wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed (17.3 oz package)
  • ⅓ cup chopped pecans
  • 8 oz Brie cheese
  • ½ cup jam (fig, raspberry, apricot, or cranberry)
  • Fresh thyme, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Unfold thawed puff pastry sheets and lightly roll with a rolling pin to smooth the creases. Cut each sheet into 16 equal squares (4 x 4).
  2. Spray a muffin tin generously with oil. Press each pastry square into a muffin cavity, firmly pressing into the bottom and gently shaping into a cup.
  3. Slice Brie into 32 one-inch pieces (freeze Brie for 15 minutes beforehand for easier slicing). Place one piece of Brie into each pastry cup.
  4. Top with 1 teaspoon jam and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  5. Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes, or until puff pastry is golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven and garnish with fresh thyme leaves. Optionally, sprinkle with orange zest or drizzle with honey or hot honey. Cool for a few minutes before removing from the muffin tin and serving.

Notes

  • Storage: Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 2–3 days.
  • Freezing: Bake, cool completely, and freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat from frozen or thawed.
  • Grease the Pan Well: Puff pastry loves to stick—spray generously for easy release and better presentation.
  • Mini Version: Use a mini muffin tin for bite-sized apps, cut puff pastry into smaller squares, use ½ teaspoon jam and slightly smaller Brie pieces, and start checking at 15 minutes.
  • Make Ahead: Assemble and refrigerate up to 3 days before baking. A quick 30-minute chill before baking also helps them puff beautifully.
