Description
A festive and colorful dip perfect for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box white cake mix (15.25–16.25 oz)
- 1 tub Cool Whip (8 oz)
- 1¼ cups vanilla yogurt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup red, white & blue sprinkles, plus more for topping
- For Dipping: Vanilla wafers, Graham crackers, Animal crackers, Pretzels
Instructions
- Spread cake mix on a sheet pan and bake at 350°F for 5 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, combine cooled cake mix, Cool Whip, vanilla yogurt, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer for 2–3 minutes, until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold in the sprinkles.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and chill for at least 20 minutes to thicken and set.
- Top with extra sprinkles and serve with your favorite dippers.
Notes
- Heat-treating the cake mix brings it to 165°F, which helps kill bacteria from raw flour.
- Some sprinkles may bleed into the dip—jimmies bleed less than nonpareils or shaped sprinkles.
- Chilling improves both texture and flavor, so don’t skip it!
- Dye-free sprinkles work great if you prefer to avoid food coloring.
