  • Author: Belinda
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A festive and colorful dip perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix (15.2516.25 oz)
  • 1 tub Cool Whip (8 oz)
  • 1¼ cups vanilla yogurt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup red, white & blue sprinkles, plus more for topping
  • For Dipping: Vanilla wafers, Graham crackers, Animal crackers, Pretzels

Instructions

  1. Spread cake mix on a sheet pan and bake at 350°F for 5 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine cooled cake mix, Cool Whip, vanilla yogurt, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer for 2–3 minutes, until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gently fold in the sprinkles.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl and chill for at least 20 minutes to thicken and set.
  5. Top with extra sprinkles and serve with your favorite dippers.

Notes

  • Heat-treating the cake mix brings it to 165°F, which helps kill bacteria from raw flour.
  • Some sprinkles may bleed into the dip—jimmies bleed less than nonpareils or shaped sprinkles.
  • Chilling improves both texture and flavor, so don’t skip it!
  • Dye-free sprinkles work great if you prefer to avoid food coloring.
