Description

Royal Milk Tea is a creamy and flavorful beverage made with black tea and milk.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 bags black tea (Assam, Darjeeling, or English Breakfast) or 2–3 tablespoons loose-leaf tea
  • 1 cup water
  • 1½ cups whole milk
  • 12 teaspoons sugar (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
  2. Add the black tea and reduce heat to a low simmer. Simmer gently for 2 minutes.
  3. Pour in the milk and watch closely. Let it heat until it begins to simmer, but remove from heat just before it comes to a boil.
  4. Remove the tea bags (or strain loose-leaf tea).
  5. Serve hot and sweeten with sugar to your preference.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of tea depending on how strong you prefer the flavor.
  • For a creamier version, slightly increase the milk.
  • Stir continuously after adding milk to prevent scorching.
