- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup chocolate chunks
- Sea salt flakes for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a 9×5 or 8×5 loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and oil together. Whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
- Add egg and vanilla; whisk well.
- Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until smooth. Fold in chocolate chunks.
- Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for about 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before slicing. Sprinkle with sea salt flakes if desired.
Notes
- Do not overbake; the center should remain slightly fudgy.
- Cooling fully helps achieve clean slices.
