Description

A delicious and easy recipe for turkey burgers that are juicy and flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1½ tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • ⅓ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, BBQ sauce
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, avocado, beef, sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix just until combined (do not overmix).
  2. Form into 4 patties, about ½ inch thick. Press a thumb-sized depression in the center of each patty. Place on a parchment-lined plate.
  3. Freeze for 20 minutes to help them hold their shape on the grill.
  4. Preheat and grease grill to medium-high. Grill patties 4–5 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  5. Alternatively, heat a nonstick pan or griddle with oil over medium-high heat. Cook 4–5 minutes per side.
  6. Or bake at 375°F for 25–30 minutes, then sear in a hot pan 2 minutes per side.
  7. Place patties on buns and add your favorite condiments and toppings.

Notes

  • Use a well-greased nonstick pan for best results.
  • Wrap patties in Boston bib lettuce for a low-carb option.
  • Add a diced jalapeño to the mixture for a spicy burger.
  • Mix ¾ cup blue cheese crumbles into patties and top with sautéed onions for a Black & Bleu burger.
  • Substitute almond flour for breadcrumbs and use gluten-free buns for a gluten-free option.
  • Form raw patties and refrigerate up to 1 day before cooking.
  • Flash freeze patties for 1 hour, then layer in a freezer-safe bag with parchment paper. Freeze up to 3 months. Cook from frozen or thaw before cooking.
